NASA Opportunity for Student Airborne Research

The announcement attached (PDF file) describes a new program for students that the National Suborbital Education and Research Center (www.nserc.und.edu) will be launching on behalf of NASA in July-August 2009. One of the main objectives is to cast a wider net for the next generation of Earth system science educators and researchers. The field is in need of fresh ideas from imaginative thinkers. The program offers advanced undergraduate and early graduate students the opportunity to engage in hands-on Earth system science research using NASA’s DC-8 flying laboratory. We specifically are encouraging applications from women and minority students. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2009.
